Sharjah Police, represented by the Security Media Department, participated in the 16th Social Work Conference by presenting a working paper titled “Community Awareness Management as a Sustainable Preventive System.” The paper was delivered by Major Saud Abdulrahman Al Shibah, Head of the Awareness Section, during the conference held under the theme: “Smart Engineering for Social Work: From Professional Practice to an Influential Leadership System – Organized Awareness.”
The conference brought together a distinguished group of specialists and leaders in social work and featured panel discussions and specialized workshops on the development of the social work system and on enhancing institutional integration. The event was organized by the Sharjah Social Services Department.
The paper reviewed how Sharjah Police advanced community awareness initiatives, transforming them from traditional media activities into an institutional preventive system. They based the new system on data analysis, impact measurement, integrated partnerships, and diversified media channels.
It also highlighted the importance of awareness initiatives to address societal challenges such as unsafe traffic behaviors, cybercrime, begging, risks to children and students, and weak digital and family awareness. The paper emphasized that effective awareness campaigns help correct behavior before it escalates into a security or social issue.
In addition, the paper outlined three main pillars of awareness efforts: traffic, security, and community awareness. It also presented outcomes from awareness campaigns conducted throughout 2025.
The paper further sheds light on the role of artificial intelligence in analyzing campaign results, identifying the groups most in need of awareness initiatives, and improving awareness messaging to enhance quality of life and promote a culture of prevention within society.
