Sharjah Police Concludes Participation in the Military Police Exhibition on Combating Drugs and Cybercrime 2026, Attracting 20,000 Visitors

By: Hessa Saeed

The Sharjah Police concluded last week its participation in the Military Police Exhibition on Combating Drugs and Cybercrime 2026, organized by the Ministry of Defense at Al Reef Shooting Range, Zayed Military City. Throughout the exhibition, the Sharjah Police platform welcomed a wide range of official figures and military leaders, in addition to strong public turnout that reached 20,000 visitors.

During the exhibition, Sharjah Police showcased—through its platform—key security challenges related to drugs and cybercrime and methods of prevention. This was presented via an awareness corridor featuring innovative interactive stations designed to promote public awareness. These included stations on cyber fraud, impersonation of official entities, cyber extortion, hacking, “financial transfer crimes linked to drug offenses,” “Protecting Our Nation Is a Duty,” and “interactive electronic games,” in addition to a “Security Briefings” corner and interactive awareness games. These components aimed to measure visitors’ awareness and understanding of security information throughout their journey along the awareness corridor.

The platform also featured the “Your Decision Is in Your Hands” installation, consisting of two walls that simulate the life paths an individual may choose. One represents the “path of wrongdoing,” depicting a reality of failure and negative peer influence leading to addiction, psychological and physical illnesses. This wall included awareness videos and expressive models illustrating the road to addiction and its consequences, such as family disintegration, criminal behavior, imprisonment, or death.
The other wall represents the “path of good,” portraying a positive and thriving life of a healthy individual, and included visual materials and awareness models emphasizing the importance of discipline, positive conduct, and their impact on the family, society, and the nation.

Brigadier Majed Al Asam, Director of the Directorate of Drug Prevention and Control, explained that the platform strengthened its role by delivering a comprehensive package of awareness programs focused on drug prevention. These programs emphasized the importance of decision-making in an individual’s life, its connection to the surrounding environment, the risks of negligence, and the consequences that may determine one’s life path—particularly for secondary school students and national service members preparing to enter professional life. This approach contributes to raising awareness and empowering young people to make sound decisions that protect their future and support community stability.

He added that the platform also delivered more than 90 awareness workshops and lectures through the “Security Briefings” corner, aimed at conveying direct awareness messages to youth about the risks of negative behaviors and ways to avoid them, thereby preventing exposure to drugs and cyber fraud.

For his part, Col. Dr. Khalifa Balhayi, Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation affirmed that Sharjah Police’s participation in the exhibition for the second consecutive year.
