The Sharjah Police, represented by the General Department of Prevention and Safety, has launched a knowledge-based program titled “Knowledge Management in Crises and Disasters.” The program will be held periodically throughout the year in collaboration with government entities and institutions across the Emirate of Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing knowledge exchange, raising preparedness levels, and integrating roles in emergency and crisis management.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaour, Director General of the General Department of Prevention and Safety, stated that the program represents a strategic step toward embedding a proactive, knowledge-driven approach based on joint planning, effective partnerships, and the utilization of practical experiences in crisis and disaster management. He noted that the program relies on specialized knowledge workshops and field visits conducted in cooperation with partners, with the objective of reviewing capabilities and resources and strengthening on-ground coordination—positively impacting response speed and the efficiency of managing emergency incidents.
Meanwhile, Colonel Mohammed Majed Al Shamsi, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Department at Sharjah Police, explained that several workshops were conducted in partnership with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority; the Sharjah Municipal Affairs Department; the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority; and the Federal Electricity and Water Authority. These workshops addressed emergency system concepts, organizational and practical aspects, and success stories in incident management. He added that the outcomes will contribute to organizing reciprocal field visits to operations centers and relevant entities, as well as forming liaison and crisis teams across sectors—thereby enhancing preparedness and integrated partnerships that ensure the sustainability of security and safety in the Emirate.
