This department endeavors to plan and study the training needs of the different units in the general department of Sharjah Police to satisfy them by the plans and training progrmmes that the department seeks to achieve in cooperation and coordination with other concerned bodies inside and outside the State, benefiting from the bilateral relations with police bodies in the different to enhance fields of training and qualifying , it also seeks to specify the manpower and the working cadres endeavoring to upgrade their abilities and expertise in the different fields.

It provides the suggestions regarding the general department and follows up the execution of plans and evaluates the different courses held in the General Department, planning and development department consists of two sections:
Training section.
Planning and development section.
