Department of correctional and penal institutions takes over the execution of judicial decrees issued by the courts of the State upon those who involved in committing crimes and anti-laws acts by confinement for or limited periods or deportation outside the country besides the judgments of physical punishment as per the judgment issued for each case. It undertakes the management of the Central Prison and the male and female inmates in coordination with the jail section at the Criminal Research department. In the light of the penal philosophy concepts and directives, the department is trying to reform and rehabilitate the inmates paying much care to their human, material and moral rights stipulated in the U.A.E constitution.
Department of correctional and penal institutions consists of three sections which are:
Execution Section.
Rehabilitation Section.
Penal Institutions Section.
