This centre is found in 1994 pursuant to a decree issued by his Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi member of the Supreme Council Ruler of Sharjah to assume the treatment and rehabilitation of drugs addicts in Sharjah emirate. It joined Sharjah Police in 1995 to carry out the following responsibilities:
To provide a comprehensive medical treatment for drugs addicts.
To qualify those treated persons physically and psychologically in addition to the cultural and professional qualifying as each case may require.
To treat alcohol addicts referred by a decision from the director general.
To do the best as those qualified persons join the jobs and professions that suit their potentials and skills gained through qualifying period.
To arrange meetings and forums for relatives and friends of the centre addicts in the purpose to make them familiar with techniques and methods of treating them in a manner keep them away from returning back to use and addicti on.

The centre contains two specialized organs as follows:
A sanatorium that receives and cures the referred cases as per the principles stated in regulations regarding thereof.
A qualifying campus: it receives and qualifies referred cases as per the principles stated in regulations regarding thereof.
