This semi military force assume the guard and protecting the courts and palaces of his Highness the member of the Supreme Council Ruler of Sharjah, his Crowned Prince, his Deputy , his assistants and their residences.

It also undertakes the guard and protection of the official location of the Government, other governmental facilities. It is responsible of safeguarding his Highness the Ruler of the Emirate, his family members, guarding and protecting the guests of the Ruler and the government during their existence in the Emirate.

It further undertakes the special military ceremonies and consists of two:
Standing Protection Force.
Movable Protection Force.

The work of this force subjects to a special regulation that determines its duties in coordination with Sharjah Police General Department.
