Procedures and required documents:

• Residence permit of the applicant should be issued from Sharjah
• Government sector employees along with Managers of establishments, banks, and petroleum equipment companies as well as universities are excluded from the above-mentioned condition as well as that of bringing a letter from the workplace. However, this doesn’t apply to private sector employees
• Housewives whose residence permits were issued from other emirates should apply for driving licenses in the same emirate; this can be proved by checking the lease contract which should be attested by the concerned authority
• A letter from the workplace
• A letter from parents or custodian (students, housewives …….etc)
• A valid passport copy along with showing the original passport
• Birth certificate
• Profession of the applicant should not be one of those ineligible to get a driving license (refer back to the page which embodies the general directions as per the Ministerial Resolution No 32 for the year 2008 regarding opening new files to obtain driving licenses).
