Tests can be narrowed down to several stages:
- The theoretical test:
It composes of a package of traffic rules that cover all situations drivers may encounter, in addition to some information on international traffic signals along with their representations written in English, Arabic and Urdu. All the aforementioned information and instructions are embodied in the Drivers Guide distributed among driving licenses applicants as a reference to be consulted in the preparation for the theoretical test.
- The elementary test:
It is designed to render drivers able to deal with the various types of PARKINGS and positions. It consists of 5 practical exercises:
1- The side parking.
2- The oblique parking.
3- Linear parking.
4- The triple road.
5- The bridge.
- Evaluation test:
It is intended to evaluate the fitness and readiness of the student to get an appointment for the final test. All beginners are subject to this test.
- The final test ( the city test):
Those who passed the evaluation test, or already have an old license will go for this test which is the final one conducted in the city roads. The duration of this test is roughly 15 minutes.
- Getting the driving license:
After passing this test, the applicant will get the driving license which is valid for one 1 year for those below 21 yrs old; 10 yrs for those above and 3yrs for those without identity.
