OUR SEVEN – POINT PLAN We will achieve our vision by:
Focusing all our effort on safeguarding security and safety for every one of our citizens, residents and visitors.
Building the trust and confidence of our communities by effective consultation and effective communication.
Improving the quality of our service and of our overall performance.
Achieving best value in the delivery of our services.
Developing the talents and abilities of everyone employed within the Sharjah Police to achieve our professional goals.
Promoting corporate and individual honesty, ethics and integrity.
Providing equipment, buildings and technology which promote the delivery of effective and efficient services.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point One
1. Focusing all our effort on safeguarding security and safety for every one of our citizens, residents and visitors.
This aim sits at the heart of all that we do and reflects the need of our communities to live free from crime and disorder and to feel safe in their homes, places of work and on our roads. Everything we do ultimately must be directed at achieving this aim which has three linked goals, each with its own strategic implementation programme. These goals cannot be separated and the key to success will be our ability to integrate fully our operational service delivery. This is an ambitious aim but we must be willing to strive to attain it if we are going to succeed.
The three goals within this strategic aim are:
1.1 Promoting community confidence in policing, civil defence and immigration
1.2 Promoting community safety
1.3 Making our roads safe for all users.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Two
2. Building the trust and confidence of our communities by effective consultation and effective communication.
We need the support of all our communities to maintain security and safety. For this we need their trust and confidence. All our communities have a right to receive the protection of their policing agencies, civil defence agencies and immigration agencies. For our communities to have confidence in the rule of law and in our ability to maintain their safety, we must communicate our intentions, actions and successes effectively. We also need to communicate effectively throughout the whole of the Police. Our staff must know what is expected of them, how we are performing and how they can assist in the achievement of our goals.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Three
3. Improving the quality of our services and of our overall performance
Our focus must be on outcomes and improvements in service delivery to the public. We will use our performance review and quality audit process to identity and remove barriers to improved performance.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Four
4. Achieving best value in the delivery of our services
To achieve our vision we rely on the financial support of our Government. The financial future is always uncertain and resources are hard won. For these reasons it is important that we make the best use of resources, maximizing efficiency and always looking for continuous improvement in both the use of resources and our service delivery.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Five
5. Developing the talents and abilities of everyone employed within the Sharjah Police to achieve our professional goals.
We can only achieve our vision through the commitment and imagination of all our staff. Everyone has a vital role to play. The Sharjah Police will be a learning organization that takes positive action to ensure that our staff is recruited, trained, developed, progressed and equipped to ensure we become the most operationally effective police possible. Effective leaders, providing direction and motivation at every level of the police are essential to realize our vision. We will identify those with leadership skills and train support and mentor them in this vital role.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Six
6. Promoting corporate and individual honesty, ethics and integrity.
An honest, ethical organization that fulfills its functions with integrity is the bedrock on which we must build our police future. We must acknowledge that from time to time individuals fall below the standard that we, and our communities, expect. Therefore it is essential that we set out our standards and have the means of dealing effectively with unethical and other behavior where we fall below those standards.
Our Seven – Point Plan : Point Seven
7. Providing equipment, buildings and technology which promote the delivery of effective and efficient services
Our buildings, technology, uniforms, vehicles and other equipment must fit us for the purpose of becoming a leading 21st century organization. Our staff must be provided with the tools to deliver a quality service to ensure that public confidence in our professionalism and service capability is maintained.
