Sharjah Police Achieves New Milestone as Five of Its Facilities Win Age-Friendly Buildings Award

In the presence of Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office, the Sharjah Police General Headquarters achieved a new milestone as five of its facilities received the Age-Friendly Buildings Award during the 15th Senior Services Forum. The Sharjah Social Services Department organized the forum under the theme “A Dignified Life and Sustainable Giving.”
This achievement recognizes Sharjah Police’s efforts to develop facilities and services that accommodate the needs of senior citizens, enhance their quality of life, and reinforce Sharjah’s status as an age-friendly city. It also aligns with the Sharjah Government’s commitment to supporting senior citizens and providing an enabling environment that promotes their inclusion in society and ensures a dignified life.
The recognition ceremony was attended by Major General Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajal, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations; Major General Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Director General of the General Department of Resources and Support Services; Major General Omar Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Director General of the General Department of Criminal Security and Ports; and Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar, Director General of the General Department of Community Prevention and Protection.
The award-winning facilities were the Sharjah Police General Headquarters main building, the Embalming Center at the Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Department, the Punitive and Correctional Institution Department building, Al Hamriyah Comprehensive Police Station, and Al Suyoh Comprehensive Police Station.
This achievement reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to creating an institutional environment that accommodates the needs of senior citizens and facilitates their access to its facilities and services. This is achieved by providing amenities that ensure a comfortable, convenient service experience while promoting independence and participation in society.
This achievement also encourages continued development of facilities and services across various police units and the embedding of age-friendly practices within the institutional framework. It demonstrates Sharjah Police’s commitment to providing inclusive services that
respond to the needs of all segments of society and support their sustainable well-being and happiness.
