Sharjah Police Organizes “Our Elders, Our Blessing” Initiative to Mark International Day of Older Persons

The Sharjah Police organized the “Our Elders, Our Blessing” initiative on the International Day of Older Persons, observed annually on 1 October, with a visit to the Elderly Care Home affiliated with the Sharjah Social Services Department.
Sheikha Noura Humaid Al Qasimi, Deputy Director of the Elderly Care Home; Brigadier Dr. Jassim bin Hadda, Deputy Director General of Operations and Security Support; and several officers and officials attended. The initiative sought to honor senior citizens, strengthen communication with them, and promote the values of loyalty, compassion, and social cohesion.
Sheikha Noura Humaid Al Qasimi commended the “Our Elders, Our Blessing” initiative, affirming that such visits positively impact senior citizens and strengthen their sense of connection and participation. She also praised Sharjah Police for its cooperation and commitment to implementing meaningful initiatives that bring joy to senior citizens and reflect the spirit of solidarity and social cohesion that characterizes Emirati society.
Brigadier Dr. Jassim bin Hadda affirmed that the initiative reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to supporting community efforts for senior citizens. He highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration in implementing programs and initiatives that meet their needs, contribute to their happiness, and enhance their quality of life.
The initiative included a tour of the Elderly Care Home, meetings with senior citizens, and inquiries about their well-being. It also featured heritage performances and community activities that created an atmosphere of joy and interaction. It concluded with recognition of the participants and contributors who helped make it a success, in appreciation of their efforts and contributions toward achieving the initiative’s objectives.
