Sharjah Police Enhances Ramadan Atmosphere for Inmates and Their Families through Cultural, Religious, and Humanitarian Initiatives

Sharjah Police, represented by the Punitive and Correctional Institution, witnessed a spiritual and social atmosphere for inmates and their families during the Holy Month of Ramadan. In collaboration with Sharjah Charity International and the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, a package of diverse initiatives, spanning cultural, religious, and humanitarian themes, was organized. This aligns with the institution’s methodology to strengthen social responsibility and bring joy to inmates and their families during this blessed month.

Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Allay, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institution Department, emphasized the institution’s commitment to enshrining human rights principles and making them a top priority. This is achieved by adhering to best humanitarian and reformative practices that promote values of justice and respect, providing a supportive environment that fosters psychological and social balance for inmates. He noted that the initiatives dedicated to Ramadan strengthen humanitarian and family values, instill a spirit of tolerance and solidarity, and support the path of reformation by preparing inmates for life after serving their sentences.

The Ramadan program included organizing a group Iftar for inmates, along with interactive sessions between them and their families, a step that strengthened family ties and kinship. The programs also featured religious lectures and cultural and educational sessions aimed at instilling moral and religious values.
