By: Maryam Hamad Al Junaibi

Sharjah Police and the Sharjah Department of Human Resources celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the “Occupational Safety and Health Representatives in Government Entities” project. The ceremony was held at the Sharjah Classic Cars Club and Museum, in the presence of His Excellency Majid Hamad Al Marri, Director of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, and His Excellency Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the General Directorate of Prevention and Safety, along with a number of officials from both sides.
His Excellency Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour affirmed that this project aligns with Sharjah's vision of promoting sustainable, safe work environments and fostering a culture of prevention and professional responsibility across government entities. He noted that the program, through its specialized modules in occupational safety and health, relevant legislation, risk identification mechanisms, and first aid, has demonstrated its importance in preparing qualified personnel capable of effectively contributing to protecting lives and property, as well as enhancing institutional performance. He also commended the significant efforts of the organizing entities and the fruitful cooperation among various institutions, which played a key role in the project’s success and in maintaining the highest professional standards.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Al Naour explained that the project is being implemented according to a phased training plan extending from January through November 2026, delivered through consecutive training groups and covering seven specialized modules. This ensures the program’s comprehensiveness, inclusion of various government entities, and enhancement of their personnel’s competencies in occupational safety and health.
For his part, His Excellency Majid Al Marri emphasized that the project falls within joint efforts to develop institutional capabilities and strengthen the occupational safety and health system, thereby contributing to a safe government work environment. He noted that the graduation of the second cohort of the “Occupational Safety and Health Representatives” project is not merely the outcome of a training program, but rather a qualitative investment in human capital and a reinforcement of occupational safety and health practices in line with the latest standards, supporting the journey of government excellence and aligning with the aspirations of the wise leadership.
The Director of the Department of Human Resources commended the efforts of Sharjah Police in the success of this pioneering project, affirming that the integration of roles among government entities constitutes a fundamental pillar in advancing the work system and achieving the highest levels of institutional efficiency and quality.
