Sharjah Police honours UAS for awareness projects

By: Sultan Dawood

Sharjah Police – February 4, 2026

The Sharjah Police (SP) has honoured the University of the Art Sharjah (UAS) in recognition of its cooperation in implementing a number of community awareness projects.

The honour was presented by Brigadier General Faisal bin Nassar, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention at SP, to Dr Nadia Mahdi Al Hassni, Director of the Visual Arts Academy at the University of the Art Sharjah (UAS). Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Butti Al Hajri, Director of the Security Media Department at SP, attended the ceremony.

The recognition follows joint work between the university and the Security Media Department, which resulted in the production of five awareness projects aimed at supporting public campaigns and promoting community safety.

Students from the university participated in developing and producing visual awareness films that addressed social and security-related topics. The projects relied on contemporary visual styles that helped deliver the messages clearly to a wide cross-section of the community.

Brigadier General Faisal bin Nassar said that awareness partnerships play an important role in preventive security work, noting that cooperation with educational institutions helps diversify communication tools and engage young people in spreading awareness messages.

Dr Al Hassni expressed her appreciation for the recognition, stressing the academy’s commitment to continued cooperation with Sharjah Police. She said the partnership allows students to apply their artistic skills in practical projects that contribute to the community and support public awareness efforts.
