The Sharjah Police, represented by the General Department of Criminal Security and Ports, arrested two suspects accused of fraudulently obtaining merchandise worth more than $100,000. Police recovered the stolen items, consisting of valuable amber beads, in full within less than 24 hours of receiving the report.
The incident was reported to a specialized police station by a Chinese national who had been robbed after offering his merchandise for sale through social media platforms. One of the suspects contacted him, claiming that he wanted to purchase the entire collection. After arranging to inspect the merchandise, the two suspects lured the victim to an area within the emirate, and they fraudulently took possession of the goods before fleeing the scene.
Brigadier Dr. Khalifa Belhai, Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Sharjah Police, said specialized teams immediately launched search and investigation operations after receiving the report. They gathered information, examined evidence, and analyzed data using advanced security technologies.
He noted that the intensive investigation uncovered the circumstances surrounding the incident, identified the suspects, and precisely tracked their movements, eventually locating them in a neighboring emirate.
He added that, through immediate coordination with the security authorities in the emirate concerned, specialized teams proceeded to the suspects’ location, arrested them, and recovered all stolen items in less than 24 hours.
The Sharjah Police General Headquarters affirmed that the swift resolution of the crime, arrest of the suspects, and recovery of the stolen property reflect the readiness and efficiency of its security teams in handling criminal reports. It also demonstrates their ability to use advanced technologies and analyze data and information to support search and investigation operations.
