The Sharjah Police General Headquarters has achieved another milestone, adding to its distinguished record of excellence and pioneering by obtaining the international standard for corporate governance’s certificate, ISO 37000:2021. This reflects its commitment to applying best international governance practices and strengthening the principles of transparency, accountability, and sustainability across its institutional operations.
This achievement recognizes Sharjah Police’s efforts to establish an integrated governance framework and embed sound management principles across its various sectors and institutional and operational processes. These efforts support more efficient decision-making, clearer roles and responsibilities, improved monitoring and oversight mechanisms, and sustainable institutional performance.
Brigadier Dr. Sameh Al Halyan, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Leadership Department, affirmed that obtaining this international standard represents an important milestone in Sharjah Police’s institutional development journey. It reflects the organization’s approach to adopting leading international standards and practices and establishing a corporate governance framework founded on efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
He noted that this framework supports efficient decision-making, enhances performance quality and the sustainability of results, contributes to achieving strategic objectives, and strengthens Sharjah Police’s readiness to respond to future changes and requirements.
The Director of the Strategy and Institutional Pioneering Department added that Sharjah Police remains committed to developing its institutional systems to enhance the efficient management of risks and resources. It also supports the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence within responsible and effective governance frameworks, contributing to a more efficient, agile, and sustainable operating model that aligns with the aspirations of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE’s future directions.
