Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, has launched the “Safe Learning Environment” initiative at the University of Sharjah’s main campus. The initiative will subsequently be rolled out at the University of Khorfakkan, University of Kalba and University of Al Dhaid.
The initiative aims to introduce students to the department’s smart services while offering a range of services and special offers tailored to their needs, making traffic and licensing services more accessible and convenient.
The launch was attended by Lt. Colonel Khalid Ahmed bin Al Sheikh, Deputy Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Sharjah Police, and Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs at the University of Sharjah, along with a number of officers, officials and representatives from both organizations.
Lt. Colonel Abdullah Ahmed Al Fardan, Head of the Driving Institutes Section, said the initiative reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships and providing students with a safe and supportive learning environment.
He noted that the initiative brings together several partners, including the Sharjah Driving Institute, Belhasa Driving Center and Al Jaber Optical, to provide students with a diverse range of services and exclusive offers designed to meet their needs.
Al Fardan explained that the initiative also familiarizes students and academic staff with the effective use of smart platforms and digital services for traffic and licensing transactions. This will help them complete their transactions more easily and make better use of the available digital services as preparations get underway for the new academic year.
As part of the initiative, Sharjah Driving Institute and Belhasa Driving Center are offering a 30% discount on training fees, while Al Jaber Optical is providing discounts ranging from 25% to 40% on prescription glasses and sunglasses, in addition to complimentary eye examinations.
The “Safe Learning Environment” initiative reflects Sharjah Police’s continued efforts to strengthen its community presence, engage directly with students, raise awareness of available smart services, and build effective partnerships that deliver high-quality services and contribute to the well-being of students and academic staff.
