His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, attended the fifth edition of the “Future Dialogue” Forum, organized by Sharjah Police General Command at the Sharjah Police Science Academy.
The forum was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, along with directors general, department directors, and specialists in foresight and security work.
The forum opened with remarks by His Excellency Major General Dr. Ali Ahmed Bu Al Zoud, Director General of the General Department of Resources and Support Services, who highlighted the rapid global transformations reshaping the concept of security and broadening the range of challenges facing security institutions.
He stressed that these developments require stronger preparedness through anticipating change, identifying weak signals and early indicators, analyzing their implications, and understanding their potential impact. He also emphasized the importance of developing proactive plans and making forward-looking decisions that enable security institutions to address challenges before they fully emerge.
The forum featured a panel discussion moderated by Brigadier Dr. Sameh Al Halyan, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department, with Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi as the guest speaker.
The discussion explored key future transformations and challenges and their potential impact on security work, as well as the importance of strengthening preparedness and proactive approaches to keep pace with emerging developments.
It also highlighted the UAE’s approach to future foresight and its emphasis on preparedness and anticipation in responding to change. The session further reviewed Sharjah’s established vision and strategies for enhancing security and stability and fostering a safe and sustainable environment for the community. Participants also exchanged perspectives and ideas, enriching the discussion and broadening the dialogue around future security priorities.
Captain Houriya Al Zarooni, Manager of the Future Foresight Centre Branch at Sharjah Police, also delivered a foresight presentation highlighting the role of future foresight in supporting decision-making and strengthening institutional preparedness.
She discussed the importance of identifying potential opportunities, challenges and risks, and using future-oriented knowledge to develop proactive plans and informed decisions.
At the conclusion of the forum, Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer honored Dr. Sultan Mohammed Al Nuaimi in recognition of his intellectual and professional contribution to the fifth edition of the “Future Dialogue” Forum.
The recognition acknowledged the insights and analyses he shared, which helped deepen understanding of current transformations and their future implications, while supporting future readiness, institutional preparedness and proactive thinking.
