Stressing the Priority of Community Safety and Stability Sharjah Police Arrest Promoter in Possession of 18,670 Fireworks

Edited by: Maryam Hamad Al Junaibi

Sharjah Police have arrested a fireworks promoter found in possession of 18,670 fireworks items without the required legal permit, using his vehicle to distribute and promote them.

The arrest resulted from careful monitoring and investigations by specialized teams. They identified the storage location, seized the fireworks, and secured them in accordance with approved legal procedures. Authorities are preparing to take the necessary legal action against the suspect.

This operation is part of Sharjah Police’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal practices that threaten community safety, especially the circulation of fireworks, which can lead to serious injuries, fires, property damage, and disturb public order.

Colonel Dr. Khalifa Balhai, Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate at Sharjah Police, stated that the irresponsible use of fireworks can cause fear and anxiety among community members, especially children and the elderly, due to their sudden loud noises. These disturbances may negatively affect the sense of safety and reassurance, particularly in residential areas. He stressed that maintaining community safety and stability is an utmost priority that will not be compromised. He further noted that Sharjah Police continue to carry out monitoring campaigns in coordination with relevant authorities as part of an ongoing plan to reduce such practices. He also urged parents to strengthen family supervision and raise their children's awareness of the legal and health risks associated with fireworks.

Sharjah Police urge all community members to actively report any illegal fireworks activities or suspicious acts through 901. By doing so, you directly support security efforts and help maintain a safe and stable environment throughout the emirate.
