Sharjah Police: Noisy Vehicles and Motorbikes in Residential Areas and Public Roads to Be Impounded

As part of its efforts to maintain safety and public tranquility in residential neighborhoods and on public roads, Sharjah Police has confirmed that strict measures are being taken against vehicles and motorbikes that cause noise disturbances. The move aims to curb negative behaviors and strengthen traffic discipline across the emirate.

Sharjah Police explained that the Operations Centre has received numerous complaints from community members regarding ongoing disturbances caused by certain vehicles and motorbikes, which conflict with public safety and peace requirements. Authorities stressed that such cases are handled through firm legal procedures that may include vehicle impoundment.
Brigadier Staff Omar Al Ghazal Al Shamsi, Director General of the General Directorate of Operations and Security Support, stated that the impoundment measures are part of the force’s national responsibility and ongoing efforts to safeguard community security and ensure the comfort of residents in neighborhoods and public spaces.
He noted that some vehicle and motorbike owners — particularly among youth — continue to violate laws and regulations by causing disturbances in residential areas and on public streets through the use of excessively noisy vehicles or illegal modifications. Such behavior, he said, undermines public reassurance and will not be tolerated. Field teams will continue to intensify inspection campaigns to identify violators and take the necessary legal action.
Brigadier Al Shamsi also urged parents to take responsibility for monitoring their children’s behavior and raising awareness about the risks and legal consequences of such practices. He highlighted the important role families play in guiding young people towards positive conduct and in promoting respect for the peace and safety of residential communities.
