As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen
community partnerships and institutional integration, Sharjah Police, through
the Community Protection and Prevention Department, convened coordination
meetings with the Al Riqqa, Suhaila, and Kalba City councils. The meetings
sought to advance preventive awareness and strengthen family values by
implementing community programs and initiatives aligned with the "Year of
the Family."
The meetings were attended by Brigadier
Ahmed Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Community Protection and Prevention
Department, his Deputy Brigadier Mohammed Ali Al Ghazal, along with council
chairpersons and members, and specialized officers from Sharjah Police.
Brigadier Ahmed Al Marri emphasized that
these meetings serve as an important platform for strengthening direct
communication with community members and listening closely to their views and
feedback. He added that this approach contributes to a more accurate
understanding of community needs and aspirations, and involving community
members in presenting suggestions and observations enhances the level of
community partnership and fosters mutual trust, which supports the development
of initiatives and services and contributes to improving quality of life and
achieving a safer and more stable society.
The meetings addressed several topics of
mutual interest that enhance cooperation and coordination with the local
community and help identify its needs, paving the way for the design and
implementation of preventive programs and community activities. These include
the “My Family is My Happiness” program, the “Yalstna” initiative, as well as
security, community, and traffic awareness programs, in addition to summer
programs.
The mechanism of the “Voice of the
Community” initiative was also reviewed. This initiative enables volunteer
community members from district areas to report negative phenomena and
behaviors, thereby supporting security efforts and enhancing safety and
stability across the emirate.
