As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of its workforce, the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, represented by the Happiness and Positivity Section, organized a health initiative for its personnel in conjunction with World Health Day, observed this year under the theme “Together for Health… Support Science.”
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of regular medical check-ups and to encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles that contribute to overall wellbeing. It was conducted in collaboration with a number of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare centers.
The initiative featured comprehensive health screenings for employees, including blood tests, blood pressure measurement, diabetes screening, vision testing, vitamin level assessments, body fat analysis, and muscle mass evaluation. Participants also benefited from free medical check-ups, specialized health consultations, and the distribution of giveaways.
Captain Salem Mohammed bin Ashour, Head of the Initiatives and Employee Benefits Branch, emphasized Sharjah Police’s commitment to enhancing the health-related quality of life of its personnel, noting that this directly contributes to improved job performance. He added that such initiatives play a vital role in fostering a culture of health awareness, encouraging regular screenings, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices that support operational readiness.
He also expressed his appreciation for the personnel’s awareness and active participation in the initiative, highlighting their commitment to benefiting from the provided health services. This, he noted, reflects a strong understanding of the importance of health preservation and prevention as essential elements of both life and work. He further extended his gratitude to the participating and supporting entities for their cooperation and contributions to the success of the initiative, and for their role in promoting a culture of prevention and health awareness.
