In a move that reflects its proactive approach to strengthening prevention and sustaining safe work environments, Sharjah Police—represented by the General Department of Prevention and Safety—has launched a specialized proactive team to register companies and train them on the Sharjah Occupational Safety and Health system.
The initiative aims to raise institutional compliance levels and enhance the effectiveness of preventive practices across various sectors.
Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the General Department of Prevention and Safety, said the team was formed as part of an integrated vision that shifts from reactive measures to proactive action. He explained that the team will guide companies in meeting approved requirements and improving their readiness to manage occupational risks using modern, practical methodologies that support business continuity and safeguard workers.
The team will conduct field visits to register unlisted companies and provide a comprehensive package of specialized training programs and technical consultations. These efforts focus on raising awareness of best occupational safety and health standards and ensuring their effective implementation, ultimately reducing workplace incidents and promoting safer work environments.
Colonel Jassim bin Taliah, Director of Accreditation and Training at Sharjah Police, noted that the initiative is a key pillar in strengthening preventive safety systems and fostering a culture where safety is a shared responsibility. He emphasized that investing in prevention is an investment in people and a fundamental driver of quality of life in society.
He also called on institutions and companies to actively engage with the proactive team and benefit from its services to achieve full compliance with approved regulations, in line with Sharjah’s strategic vision of strengthening occupational safety systems and protecting human resources.
