In coincide with the Year of Family, the Sharjah Police, represented by the Security Media Department, launched a community awareness campaign titled “Awareness Begins from Home” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Sharjah Private Education Authority, the Child Safety Foundation, the Media Office of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, and Sharjah Children affiliated with Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators. The campaign aims to reinforce positive behaviors among children and strengthen the family's role as the primary environment for instilling values and as the first foundation on which an individual’s character is formed, with an impact that extends to schools and society. The campaign will continue for one month.
The campaign is part of Sharjah Police’s approach to strengthening the community prevention system by empowering families with modern educational knowledge and skills through conscious role modeling, constructive dialogue, and continuous follow-up. This helps protect young people from negative behaviors and reinforces concepts of discipline, responsibility, and proper conduct.
His Excellency Brigadier Faisal bin Nassar, Director General of the General Department of Community Prevention and Protection, affirmed that the campaign focuses on delivering direct awareness messages to parents and children, emphasizing that values are not instilled solely through theoretical guidance, but are built through daily practice within the home. This includes commitment to order, good conduct, responsibility, respect for public etiquette, protection of property, as well as promoting the importance of choosing good company and encouraging the safe use of modern technologies.
The Director General of the General Department of Community Prevention and Protection added that the campaign includes a series of awareness programs and materials across Sharjah Police’s digital platforms, including short media messages, awareness designs, video clips, and content directed toward families and children. It also includes field activities and educational awareness lectures for parents and their children, in cooperation with relevant entities, to ensure outreach to various segments of society and enhance the impact of the awareness message.
Brigadier bin Nassar called on parents to actively engage with the campaign, benefit from its awareness content, and support their children through conscious, responsible dialogue that enhances their understanding of values and proper behavior. He stressed that instilling values within the family is not merely an educational responsibility, but a sustainable national investment in community security, stability, and quality of life.
