Sharjah Police, represented by the Punitive and Correctional Institution, organized a health initiative titled “Health for All” for the inmates, in cooperation with the Sharjah Health Authority and the University of Sharjah. The initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services for inmates and provide specialized medical care that improves the quality of life within the institution.
The initiative aligns with the strategic direction of Sharjah Police toward strengthening institutional partnerships and effective integration with health and community entities in support of a comprehensive inmate care system that reflects the reformative and humanitarian approach adopted in providing an environment that takes into consideration health, social, and humanitarian aspects in accordance with the highest approved standards and practices, embodying its commitment to the health and safety of inmates and enhancing the quality of services provided to them.
The initiative provided a mobile dental clinic offering dental treatment and care services for inmates, in addition to the participation of specialized medical professionals in ophthalmology and dermatology, where necessary medical examinations were conducted, and treatments and health consultations were provided, contributing to preventive healthcare and the early detection of medical conditions, while promoting the overall health standards of inmates in line with the best medical and humanitarian practices.
