Sharjah Police, represented by the Community Protection and Prevention Department, organized a community program titled “My Family, My Happiness” in cooperation with Al Riqqah Suburb Council, affiliated with the Department of Suburbs Affairs. The initiative aimed to strengthen the role of the family as the foundation of society and a key pillar in building stable and thriving communities.
Held as part of the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026 initiatives, the program featured several themes focused on strengthening family cohesion and reinforcing the family’s role in creating a safe and stable society.
The sessions highlighted the importance of strengthening communication between parents and children through positive dialogue within the family, while also emphasizing the vital role parents play in guiding their children and instilling values and responsible behavior.
The program also focused on the importance of cooperation between community institutions and families in supporting social stability. In addition, a family counselling session addressed key family-related issues and explored practical and effective ways to deal with them.
Brigadier Ahmed Mohammed Al Merri, Director of the Community Protection and Prevention Department at Sharjah Police, affirmed that organizing such programs reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that strengthen family stability. He noted that an aware and connected family represents the first line of protection for children, adding that strong community partnerships contribute to building a safe, united, and stable society.
