The General Command of Sharjah Police, represented by the Correctional and Rehabilitation Institution, organized an “Eid Gathering” as part of its humanitarian and social initiatives aimed at strengthening inmates’ family ties and providing psychological and social support during the Eid Al Adha holidays, in line with Sharjah Police’s commitment to promoting humanitarian values and enhancing quality of life.
The event was attended by Brigadier Abdullah Rashid Alai, Director of the Correctional and Rehabilitation Institution, along with several officers, who reviewed the activities of the gathering and the interaction between inmates and their families throughout the program.
The gathering brought together a number of inmates and their families in an atmosphere filled with warmth, joy, and family connection, helping create moments of happiness while enhancing feelings of stability and reassurance among participants.
Brigadier Alai affirmed that organizing the “Eid Gathering” reflects Sharjah Police’s commitment to implementing meaningful programs and initiatives that strengthen the humanitarian aspect of correctional work and help preserve inmates’ family relationships, which are considered a key pillar in rehabilitation, reform, and successful reintegration into society.
The initiative also reflects the continued efforts of the Correctional and Rehabilitation Institution to develop care and rehabilitation programs and enhance the psychological and social wellbeing of inmates, reinforcing Sharjah Police’s commitment to applying best humanitarian practices in police work.
