Sharjah Police has announced the completion of its preparations for Eid Al Adha through a comprehensive security and traffic plan developed in coordination with relevant departments to enhance safety and security for citizens, residents, and visitors throughout the holiday.
Brigadier Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of the General Department of Operations and Security Support, stated that the plan includes a range of preventive and proactive measures, most notably increasing security and traffic presence around mosques, expanding patrol deployment, and monitoring main and internal roads through the central operations room to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Specialized field teams have also been assigned to respond to emergencies and address any negative behaviors that may affect the festive atmosphere during Eid.
Brigadier Al Ghazal explained that the plan also focuses on tackling several behaviors that may impact public comfort and community safety during the holiday period. This includes intensified efforts to combat begging through field monitoring campaigns, as well as stricter traffic control measures to reduce random and improper parking around mosques, markets, and entertainment destinations, which often cause congestion and obstruct traffic movement.
He added that Sharjah Police remains committed to responding immediately to complaints related to noise disturbances in residential areas caused by irresponsible vehicle use, in order to preserve residents’ comfort and peace.
The plan also emphasizes the importance of securing homes before travelling during the holiday by following safety measures and ensuring valuables, doors, and windows are properly protected.
Brigadier Al Ghazal further stressed the importance of children’s safety at beaches and swimming areas, noting that awareness efforts are being intensified to encourage parents to supervise children at all times and avoid leaving them unattended, helping prevent accidents and ensure family safety during Eid.
He affirmed that these measures form part of an integrated security system aimed at protecting lives and property during the holiday, while emphasizing the importance of public cooperation and adherence to safety instructions to support the success of security efforts.
Sharjah Police also urged community members to report emergencies or violations through its dedicated channels by calling 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergency cases, wishing everyone a safe and joyful Eid in Sharjah.
