Sharjah Police has announced the successful implementation of its security
and traffic plan during the Eid Al Adha holiday, carried out in coordination
with relevant authorities. The plan contributed to enhancing public safety,
ensuring smooth traffic movement across the emirate, and maintaining high
levels of readiness and rapid response in serving the community.
Brigadier Staff Omar Al Ghazal, Director General of the General Department
of Operations and Security Support, stated that the success of the plan was the
result of early preparations, integrated coordination efforts, and the
strategic deployment of human and technical resources. He added that
specialized field teams remained fully prepared around the clock, enabling efficient
handling of reports, incidents, and inquiries in line with the highest
standards of quality and response speed.
He explained that the security and traffic plan was based on proactive
studies and traffic flow analysis, including forecasts of congestion levels in
key areas that experience increased activity during holidays, such as mosques,
shopping centers, tourist attractions, and entertainment destinations. These
measures helped strengthen the security and traffic presence and contributed to
achieving advanced levels of safety and traffic flow throughout the emirate.
Brigadier Al Ghazal also highlighted the strong performance of the
Operations Center during the holiday period, noting that 61,509 calls were
received through the emergency number 999, while the 901 non-emergency line
handled 8,432 calls related to customer services and public inquiries. He said
these figures reflect the high readiness of police personnel and the efficiency
of operational systems in delivering support and rapid response services around
the clock.
Sharjah Police praised the cooperation of community members and their
commitment to security and traffic guidelines throughout the Eid holiday,
emphasizing that public cooperation played a significant role in supporting
security efforts, strengthening community safety, and enhancing stability
across the emirate.
Sharjah Police calls for the public to contact 999 for emergencies and 901
for non-emergency services and inquiries, reaffirming its continued commitment
to delivering the highest standards of police and security services to ensure
the safety and wellbeing of the community at all times.
