As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional integration among relevant government entities, Sharjah Police hosted members of the Regulatory Committee for Border Crossings and Entry Points at its headquarters for a coordination meeting.
The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajel, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations; Brigadier Abdulaziz Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director of the Sharjah Land Ports Department; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Border Crossings and Entry Points Affairs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority; Colonel Dr. Waleed Khamis Al Yamahi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department; Colonel Matar Al Ketbi, Director of the Ports and Airports Department; Lieutenant Colonel Staff Mohammed Saeed Al Afari, Commander of the Northern Sector of the National Guard Command, alongside representatives from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, heads of police stations, and a number of specialists from relevant entities.
The meeting reviewed several initiatives and development proposals aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across border crossings and entry points, while further strengthening coordination and integration among the concerned entities. These efforts are intended to reinforce institutional readiness, improve performance, and support the sustainability of joint operations in line with established best practices.
Participants also discussed avenues for advancing cooperation and exchanging expertise and knowledge to unify efforts, improve coordination mechanisms, and elevate the quality of services and operational performance. Such initiatives support the UAE’s vision of building an integrated, agile security system capable of anticipating future challenges.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized that the border crossings and entry points system represents an advanced model of cooperation and integration between local and federal government entities. They underscored the importance of building on existing achievements and continuing to enhance operational frameworks in ways that improve efficiency and support the nation’s aspirations for a forward-looking security ecosystem that keeps pace with sustainable development requirements.
