Sharjah Police: Sense of Safety in the Emirate Reaches 99.7% in 2025 During the Fifth Meeting of the Higher Leadership Council

Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, affirmed that the outstanding results achieved by the Emirate of Sharjah in the Quality of Life Indicators issued by the Department of Statistics and Community Development, most notably the achievement of a 99.7% score in the Sense of Safety Index during 2025, reflect the success of the Emirate’s comprehensive development vision.

Guided by the leadership and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and under the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, this vision has strengthened the security system and provided the resources and capabilities necessary to enhance operational efficiency and security readiness. These efforts have helped establish a safe and stable environment that promotes quality of life and advances community well-being.

His Excellency noted that these distinguished indicators demonstrate the effectiveness of security and preventive policies, the efficiency of institutional performance, and the high level of public awareness, social responsibility, and constructive partnership between community members and security authorities, and these factors have reinforced security and stability, supporting the Emirate’s comprehensive development journey.

His Excellency further ensured the continuous enhancement of the security system and built on its achievements in line with the strategic directions of the Government of Sharjah and the objectives of the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which seeks to position the UAE among the safest and most stable countries in the world.

These remarks were made during the fifth meeting of the Higher Leadership Council for 2026, attended by council members, including directors general and their deputies, department directors, and relevant specialists. During the meeting, the Council reviewed the Quality of Life Indicators issued by the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah for the previous year.

The strategic and operational performance indicators of Sharjah Police reflected advanced levels of achievement that enhanced the effectiveness of the security system, improved community and traffic safety, and strengthened public confidence in the security services provided. The Sense of Safety Index during daytime reached 99.8%, while the Sense of Safety at Home at Night Index recorded 99.7%. The percentage of residents who felt safe walking alone outside at night reached 98.7%. In addition, community satisfaction with the Sharjah Police's role in crime prevention reached 99%, while confidence in the Police's ability to combat crime and apprehend offenders was also 99%. Satisfaction with the speed of response in supporting and assisting crime victims reached 99%, while satisfaction with proactive efforts to address social issues and sources of concern reached 97%.
The meeting also reviewed traffic performance indicators, which showed a 16% reduction in the traffic fatality rate per 100,000 population during 2025. Emergency response reached 100% for all emergency cases within the prescribed response times,

underscoring the efficiency of emergency systems and the readiness of field personnel to respond swiftly to incidents. These results reflect the success of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety, strengthen preventive measures, and reduce serious traffic accidents.

Satisfaction with Sharjah Police’s role in protecting family cohesion and effectively addressing family-related issues reached 98%, while satisfaction with the support provided to victims’ families and relatives reached 97%. These figures reflect Sharjah Police’s humanitarian approach and its commitment to strengthening family cohesion and social stability, thereby contributing to security and quality of life across the Emirate.

The Council also reviewed several community responsibility indicators, which reflected the high level of public confidence in the initiatives and programs implemented by Sharjah Police. Community satisfaction with the force’s social responsibility efforts reached 98.5%, while satisfaction with initiatives supporting senior citizens and people with disabilities stood at 99%. Satisfaction with environmental, health, and safety initiatives reached 98%, as did satisfaction with the force’s participation in volunteer work, humanitarian initiatives, sports and cultural programs, and public and private events in support of the community. Meanwhile, satisfaction with Sharjah Police’s engagement through various media platforms to highlight its achievements and community initiatives reached 94%.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum of continuous development and improvement, building upon positive indicators and achievements, and launching innovative initiatives and services that are more efficient, flexible, and proactive. Such efforts, he noted, align with the aspirations of both the UAE Government and the Government of Sharjah and further reinforce the Emirate’s position as a leading model of security, stability, and quality of life.
