Issue 229

Issue 229 - October 4, 2023 Corresponding to Rabi' Al-Awwal 20, 1445 AH

Social networking sites are a double-edged sword, as explained in this book, because they are a positive opportunity in terms of the potential they contain that have contributed to achieving the service and well-being of contemporary societies. This influence is clearly evident in the UAE society with what it has achieved in enhancing cybersecurity and achieving societal security, in addition to the cultural risks that these means carry. Religious, negative security influences and threats have contributed to the spread of new types of various cybercrimes in society. The study has reached many recommendations, the most prominent of which are as follows:
- Developing laws related to electronic crimes and social media crimes in a way that keeps pace with the rapid changes in new methods of committing crimes.
- Establishing religious and ethical standards for the use of social networking within school curricula with the aim of educating young people on the ethics of electronic interaction in accordance with the correct Islamic approach, in addition to establishing Arab Islamic networks to enhance communication between Arab Muslim youth throughout the world to spread Islamic values and protect our religion from all forms of accusation directed against it.
