This book illustrates the concept of "alarming crimes" and why the Policy Council of the Ministry of the Interior defines them in a list. It also shows the leading role of criminal information systems and their role in reducing such disturbing crimes. It presents ten criteria for combating alarming crimes scientifically and practically that are easy to understand and apply. The study concludes with a series of recommendations, notably:

- Adopt the proposed visions mentioned in this study: adopt police rules to deal with disturbing crimes, work to bridge the knowledge gap between research and investigators and legislative amendments, adopt a police security policy to combat disturbing crimes, adopt criteria for classifying crime scores for disturbing crimes, and adopt the Smart Criminal Security Adviser project.
