As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and integrate expertise and capabilities in the fields of prevention and occupational safety, Sharjah Police Headquarters signed a cooperation agreement with Wekaya, a joint venture between BEEAH and The Green Planet, accrediting Wekaya as an approved provider of training programs in this field. The agreement supports the development of preventive systems and enhances the quality of training and professional qualification in occupational safety and prevention.
The agreement was signed by Major General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director General of the General Department of Prevention and Safety at Sharjah Police, and Ali Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of Wekaya. The signing ceremony was attended by Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH and a Board Member of Wekaya; Brigadier Khalid Bouzanjal, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Prevention and Safety; Brigadier Rashid Al Fardan, Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Department; along with a number of officers and officials from both sides.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Naour emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with national institutions and specialized organizations, and of fostering greater integration in leveraging shared expertise and resources to support preventive efforts, enhance safety standards, and reduce risks. He noted that such partnerships contribute to promoting a culture of prevention and developing an integrated framework that strengthens community safety and security while supporting quality of life and the sustainability of safety and well-being across the Emirate of Sharjah.
For his part, Ali Al Naqbi stated: “We are pleased to partner with Sharjah Police Headquarters. This agreement represents an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation and advancing training programs in occupational safety and prevention. It will help enhance professional competency, reinforce a culture of prevention, and promote the adoption of best practices that contribute to the safety of individuals and workplaces throughout the Emirate of Sharjah.”
The agreement provides a framework for joint cooperation in organizing and delivering specialized training programs in occupational safety and prevention for workers in government entities and the private sector, including the construction, industrial, and commercial sectors. It also covers related areas in accordance with applicable regulations and policies, as well as the accreditation and evaluation of training programs and the assurance of their quality and outcomes. These efforts are expected to enhance training effectiveness and elevate professional qualification and specialization in preventive disciplines.
